Ray and I went to the Baltimore Grand Prix and had a great time.
Here’s a link to the mega gallery!
Even got to see Jimmie’s Chicken Shack and Collective Soul. Both are still rockin’ after all these years!

Hipsters @ the Library

So while I was @ lunch today, I stopped by Central Library just to waste a few minutes, when I notice that the parking lot is a bit more full than usual. I get inside and it lools like it’s been taken over by the entire Tidewater Hipster Conference. I guess it’s now cool to hang @thelibrary while Soccer Moms and their noisy kids get the newest Daneille Steele novel and Barney video. Maybe I’m a bit jaded as I frequent the library quite often. Anyone else noticed this trend?
This is also the first post from my phone. It looks like it should work and I’m too cheap to get the app that works with wordpress. I’ll attempt to hit publish next, here goes nothing…

Dogs in the Snow

Yeah, it snowed around here, everyone knows so I won’t bore with details.

The dogs loved it, although cleaning up afterwords was quite the chore.  Here’s a couple from the gallery…

‘O a Hiking We Will Go!

We all went hiking The Day After Thanksgiving (yes I ment to capitalize it, it is it’s own holiday it seems).  Left the house around 6:30am and was hiking by around 11.  We did the Hawksbill Summit Loop.  Great trail to start with, although there was a lot of snow and ice on the north side of the mountain, by the time we got to the west side, there was little to no signs of it.  The summit was pretty great, there was a lot of wind, but the view made up for it.

Here’s some pics and Ashley’s and Mine’s.  Please ignore all the artifacts that are on my sensor, it’s a touchy subject 😦

Caught Corey pondering how all those rocks got on top of the mountain

Most of everything was covered in snow on the north side

What Is Up?

So yesterday I had my wisdom teeth taken out.  It went pretty well, I am still recovering though, and I look like a squirrel stuffed with food in it’s mouth.  Doesn’t hurt so much right now and I can’t wait to be able to brush my teeth as I’ve been informed I need to wait a while before I can do it.

In other words, this past Sunday, Ashley and I got some flowers and weeded/planted/replanted several species into my flower bed.  I must say, it looks very nice and she picked some rather good looking flowers.  There’s still a little of work to do with it, but we knocked out most of them out, it is going to look absolutely great when we are finished.  I”ll put some pictures up when I feel a little more like getting out and being able to bend over and take pictures and such.

Update

Haven’t updated in a while. I’m lazy. Since the last post I’ve done gone to Bermuda, Washington D.C. and probably some other stuff, but those are the major things.

Last night Amanda, Ashley and myself went and saw WALL-E. I really liked it. The first 1/2 hour or so doesn’t have any dialog, it’s just music and sound effects. The whole movie is great though, and I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.

That’s it for now. Maybe next time I won’t wait so long to update.

Movie Giveaways Suck

A couple days ago, I was browsing through movie trailers over on Apple’s trailer site and watched a few trailers.  Some I’d seen before and there were several new ones that looked interesting to me.  One new one I  hadn’t watched was Lakeview Terrace.  The trailer impressed me and made me want to watch the movie when it comes out, tilllll….the entire movie was given away in one scene.  Now I’m all about having a trailer that’s exciting and draws people into the movie, but giving away the entire plot is just stupid.  Here’s the link to the trailer.  At 1:13 everything just goes to crap.  It sounds like a racial problem is about to b brought up, but then, the color blue is brought up.  The dude’s a cop.  OH NO!  Now why did they do this?  Do I want to see the movie now?  I now know the entire reason that this guy’s able to mess with his new neighbors.  Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to try and figure out what the reason for the movie is?  They so could have totally pulled off the trailer without giving away that the guy’s a cop and the neighbor is pretty much helpless against that.  I’m now probably not going to go see this as I feel like I’ve seen pretty much the whole thing.  Part of the going to the theater to watch a movie is the suspense of not knowing what’s going to happen to the characters, especially in a thriller/drama/suspense movie.  I feel like I just got jipped on this one, luckily there was no cost involved.

Who else feels this way about giving away movies?

Some Pics

I have a bunch of flowers in my yard. No I didn’t plant them, they were already growing when I made the purchase. I’m going to be lazy and not post the pics in here, it takes to long and the formatting can get stupid.

In other words, I’ve been listening to a lot of Sonic Youth lately. I have no idea why I seem to want to listen to them so much. I’ve also got this crazy Flobots song, Handlebars, stuck in my head. Give it a listen and please discuss. Here’s the vid
